Hussain Jiffry, Yanni's bass guitarist emailed recently from Capetown, South Africa regarding his summer activities.
Hussain has been on tour with the Earth, Wind and Fire Experience. The 14 piece band was formed by original EWF guitarist Al McKay, who co-wrote most of EWF's hits.
The band has been touring in France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Yugoslavia. After finishing their show in Capetown, the EWF Experience is on their way to Johannesburg and then Norway, Italy, Austria and Spain. Whew what a trek!
As if that weren't enough, Hussain has also been busy writing and producing his own material and playing on CDs with various other artists. It sounds like he will be needing a vacation before the fall tour starts!
That's awesome Hussain - good work! I almost did get Hussain's autograph last year. He was standing by the arena entrance with Eddie, I was almost up to where they were, just a couple people away and they both took off, back into the arena. I think they were getting ready to help load equipment. Well, maybe next time! Congrats to Hussain on the "gig". More like Gigantic Gig!!
