Why have Ric Fierabracci and Karen Briggs left Yanni's orchestra or rather his band?

Karen Briggs felt she wanted to pursue a solo career and work with smaller orchestras, Ric is now working with other artists.

Since they both live in Los Angeles, I get to see them occasionally, but not nearly as often as I would like.

You can get Karen's album "Amazing Grace" on cdbaby.com and Ric has an album out with a couple of other great guys "Mojo Tapestry" that you can guy through his website.

They are both really wonderful musicians and cool people, too. They both had been with Yanni for many, many years and felt they wanted to branch out and work with other people as well as working on their own personal material.

Ric is awesome! I would encourage all to purchase, from Frank Gambale's website, the concert dvd with Rick, Frank, and Steve Smith on drums. I believe that is the Steve Smith that was with Journey.

There is also a clinic portion on the dvd, including a thick booklet with printed music,etc. It is definitely worth the money. I use it in my high school music program.

Ric is extremely gracious, as proven by how he hosted my Mom at a concert in Tokyo with Chick Corea several years ago. Ric is a true gentleman!
