Hi jo ann,
A few people have wondered about the karma points. They don't really mean anything on this website other than every time you post you get a karma point. If you look up your profile you should see, that at the moment, you have 5 karma points. The only time this will be different is for members who joined the message board before this current website was set up in 2003 as some have more posts than actually show on the forums.
Hope this helps. Smiler
Take care

Hi Margaret,
If you look at your profile, on the left hand side there is a list of things and one is karma. If you click on it you'll see your karma points. Smiler
Take care,

oh...cool.....I did not know about the karma stuff....either

I got more karma points than my posts show...which is good because I lost some when my account got corrupted. Guess I lost the postings numbers, but not all the karma. Although, I am a bit short even on the karma.

good question......and learning, Margaret, keeps us young. The fountain of youth was discovered long time ago. It is called, "learning" because it keeps us young and alert. (well, okay mentally at least. They are still looking for that fountain for our bodies Razzer)

oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!! Did someone mention a party??????

Get out the ordervers and the wine Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin

My mind seems to be stuck at 17 until just recently. I must say I have matured a little since landing this last job....I no longer get all hurt and offended...I just get a little ....ah.....well...angry and stand my ground more than I use to do. It is a good feeling sometimes, but not always.

So does that mean I have to let go of 17 and maybe now I am at least 21....oh....legal at last!!!!!!!!!!!

hugs and giggles

I think us over a half century should get double the karma points, don't you? I am sure Egggie would not mind...and Seren would not care... not sure how Kathrine feels about it. Oh...and Yman would probably pour himself a glass of wine and (Yanni too) offer us all a toast. SALUTE!!!!! <---can't remember how to say that in Greek.

lobe ya all

hugs and giggles

Well since I would be included in that double karma points idea -- does that mean I get a seniors discount at stores and restaurants now?

(giggle) I was thinking the same thing, Kat, but I think that does not happen until two score, a decade plus five here. I have a few years yet before I can officially say "senior." But, according to AARP, once you tip over the half century mark you are a gonner. RazzerRazzerRazzer

Even with the "discounts" I don't dine out much......for a number of reasons. $, health, and too tired after working 10 hr shifts.

hmmmm....I talk too much...

I'M LIKE SO GLAD SOMEONE BROUGHT THIS UP, NEVER HEARD OF IT, BUT HEY I LIKE THE WHOLE IDEA....DO WE EVER GET LISTED INDIVIDUALLY AS TO HOW MANY POINTS AT ANY TIME DURING LETS SAY A MONTHLY OR QUARTERLY TALLY...I LIKE THIS IDEA, CAN IT BE DONE LIKE THAT?

Hi Lady G,

In truth, if we could disable the karma points we would. We don't believe this board should be a competition. All members are considered equal no matter how long they've been members or how actively they post.

ouch! I bit my tongue. Bread and strawberry jam is delish, though.

I was not aware we were in competition....and we are all the same anyways, right? But....I would not want to try to compete with others who have way too much time on their hands to respond a k-jillion times. But, I really like earning something like Karma points.....but I got a question....what are they for? I KNOW!!!!

So we can drive the mods nuttier than they already are with our insane questions and chattering on about double the points for living so long.......RazzerRazzerRazzerRazzer

I like the way you think....Wink

say...what's the trouble with ups? Or should I dare ask that one?

I got a question while we are on the topic of karma, points, posts etc etc etc.

I know the count is lost on my number of posts and that does not really bother me......but would it ever be possible for some guru high techie person to use a big cyber eraser and change the date of registration on my profile????? I joined the YMB in January of 2001. If this cannot be done....then I was right!!!! LOW TECH RULES!!!!!!!!!!!! (after all, in low techie situations, erasers rub it out, and pencils correct the data.....very easily) RazzerRazzerRazzerRazzer
