Tickets are priced at $100 to $1,000 per seat.
And that's just for an event six days before the Super Bowl.
Sort of a local kickoff to the week before the Super Bowl, "A Houston Salute" on Jan. 26 has fetched as much as $1,000 per person. That four-figure ticket provides entry into the "Presidential Dinner" and a program at Reliant Hall and Arena.
Houston Salute is being billed as a Super Bowl Week Kickoff event that features celebrities as varied as former President George H.W. Bush and internationally acclaimed musician Yanni. Houston sports legends will share the spotlight.
And the official countdown to the Feb. 1 kickoff will begin with the official raising of the Super Bowl flag.
The cheapest sponsor table for Houston Salute is $10,000.
Floor seats just for the program, including the musical stylings of Yanni and his orchestra, were priced as high as $500 a pop. But by mid-January, Ticketmaster had sold out of those high-end tickets.
Naturally, there's a secondary market. Houston Salute floor seats were still available on Ebay on Jan. 18, albeit with a starting bid of $250 apiece.
Or Ticketmaster had some lesser seats for $150 each.
That gets you in the Monday event, which starts at 8 p.m. Yanni performs a tribute to the National Football League and sings the praises of the Super Bowl's nearly 40-year history.
