The Iditarod Dog Race started last Sunday in Alaska. I am a big fan of the mushers, and join in the race by way of daily updates and videos on their web site. It is very exciting to see how excited the dogs and mushers are to be in that cold, cold wilderness for over 1,000 miles for 10 or more days from Anchorage to Nome. My favorite musher is Lance Mackey who has won the past two years. You can catch up on the news at

The race will be over tomorrow and my pick for winner is in first place. I got to watch beginning of race on live stream and the end will be on tomorrow. BTW Discovery shuttle was awsome on NASA website. Good trip guys.

Yep it's all over for another year...Really exciting watching the magnificent dogs race for 1,122 miles.And it was so very, very cold. Lance Mackey was first over the finish line, his third consecutive year winning the race. Congratulations Lance and his prize dogs.He received $68,000, a new truck, and gold nuggets. Worth the trip I guess.
