Seems like a lot of people are pulling the tug of war rope lol. Want to hear it now, be patient, want to hear it now, be patient lol. That's the whole purpose of teasing people with previews. Nothing wrong with either reaction. He's not saying here it is, it's finished, but he's also not saying I'm not done yet so be patient. He's saying look what came out of silence this time - here's a sneak preview to get you as excited as we are. So screaming and yelling and begging to hear the rest of it is what I would want my audience to do if that was my music. I'm sure he and Ric are interested in reading all reactions, demanding, passive, negative and overly excited! Instead of reacting to each other, I'd like to read more reactions to the new music itself.
I REALLY like the last song in this new video. I don't care if Yanni isn't known for pop. The song is blistering hot, and so is the artist's voice! I like the echo effects applied to the last line about "all the possibilities" - that's really powerful! And the song itself has tremendous energy! Makes me feel like I'm at a fantastic party in the sunshine sipping a drink with a little pink umbrella in it and dancing like there's no tomorrow. Get out of my way because I just might spill it on ya LOL. And from a vocalist standpoint, I can't wait to sing it. Looking forward to hearing the whole thing. The 2nd to last song, which is more mellow, seems to be the same vocalist and I like that melody too. Intriguing notes and key. I also noticed that the song in the middle of the new video is the same as one in the first video, except this time it's with a faster beat and percussion behind it. I wonder if they're experimenting with the same vocals against two different tempos or orchestrations. Ahh, the perks of engineering your own stuff! The pop version and the pops version lol. It would be fun to use both versions of that song in one package - the fast part, then the mellow part in the middle, then back to the fast part at the end.
When someone says they're having the best time of their life and writing the best music they've ever written, they're happy and the result is going to be upbeat or unbelievably intriguing. That's what I hear in the snippets. In any case, I think Yanni and Ric may have a hit with hourly air time on the radio. Or several hits. I think it's smart to wait and test the market, release the music, perhaps in stages, and get a listener base going after it, fan club members or not, and then tour. That would be nice because I prefer to know the music I see performed live. It would also bring in bigger audiences once the world has heard the music. The two halves make a great whole and the billion to ones make the best accidents!
Very insightful as usual Hawk. And very to the point. I am a very patient person. I love surprises, but I also enjoy the anticipation. Knowing what a perfectionist Yanni is, I'm sure he won't release anything until he's absaolutely satisfied with it. I can wait. Heck, I'll sit in the sunshine with you and sip a drink or two. I'll even join in the dance when the music is released. Hope to see you on the tour.
THIS WILL HAVE ALOT FOR ALOT OF PEOPLE , I AM SO CERTAIN, THERE WILL BE ROCK AND CLASSICAL , JUST FROM WHAT WE HAVE HEARD...FOR ANY AGE GROUP! WE WILL BE VERY PLEASANTLY SUPRISED , YANNI HAS NEVER LET US DOWN! I AM ANXIOUS AS WELL, IT WILL SKY ROCKET!

Hi Hawk Ciao.
I have to be honest and say that I'm a bit confused by the music I heard in the video. As I said in another string music is very important in my life, music is "food" for my soul...but I'm not sure that the music I heard in that video is the "food" I want...sorry to say that.. The music I heard seems to be too much "Pop- dance"- "mainstream Pop" for my tastes (I don't like definitions in music, but that's the only way to explain what I feel ).
It's the kind of Instrumental music that Yanni used to do that made me fall in love with his music.I mean, I have no problems with songs with vocals,I like "Aria","Love is all" and the songs sang by Alfreda and Michelle...but I simply don't like the kind of Pop I heard in the new video..sorry..If you could see the expressions of my face while I'm listening to the music of the clip, probably you will understand what I feel..
Obviously, this is just my opinion I'm sure that other fans will love this new direction.Yanni is a great artist,he can compose the music he loves and I respect his decisions. But also listening (and purchasing)music is a choice, and for the first time in 12 years,I'm not sure I will love this new direction and this new album. It's very hard to say that...very hard..I mean I've been a fan for 12 years (I've got a huge collection of Yanni's albums)..but that's what I feel..that's my reaction to the music of the clip.
Obviously 'Never say never'...and I will say something more when I will have the chance of listening to the new cd I will always support Yanni,I respect him because he's a great composer, but I have my opinions and that's what I feel.
Thanks for the thought you put into your reply, Myky. I hope that there is something for everyone and you will get to hear a new song that reignites your initial attraction to the music. I like all kinds of music and pretty much go with the songs that grab me regardless of their category. I guess I'm lucky in that respect. Giving anything a chance is the best thing you can do!
I've grown up listening to all the beautiful instrumentals yanni has made and how his music was always filled with emotions and words which never needed expressing
I've listened to him over and over and never gotten tired as opposed to listening to any other music. His music always had and always will have that magical feeling
Honestly I am not totally excited about his new venture, but i still wish him all the best! Thats the least i can do for the composer whose music filled up every day and night of my life...
