First, I'd like to welcome the newcomers. We are a close knit community. We have a lot of fun together and are always happy to add to our Yanni family.
In order to get to know each other, I thought it might be fun to share things like how, where and when we first became aware of Yanni; what CDs/DVDs/Videos you have; have you been to a live concert? How many? Where?/ How did you find the YMB?/ Have you ever met anyone from the YMB? You get the picture. Anything at all that has to do with your Yanni history. Just answer what you want to or add questions of your own.
This is meant to include everyone, the newcomers as well as those of us who have been here for a while.

I'll start. In 1990 (or was it 1992?)I was channel-surfing on TV, waiting for another program to come on. I turned to the Live at the Acropolis concert and was absolutely mesmerized! I watched the whole concert and never did see the other show. They were giving away tickets to a concert in my area for a pledge donation. It never occured to me to go to a live concert for someone I saw on TV, but I was so impressed that I said, "why not?" I went to that concert and have been going to Yanni concerts ever since.
I joined the YMB shortly after it started in 2000. I had just met Yanni in person at a CD signing for the If I Could Tell You album and knew I had to share it with people who felt the way I did. Little did I know how much I would continue to enjoy the people here for all these years!

I first saw Yanni on my PBS station airing LATA never heard of him before. I listened to his music and within a few minutes I was hooked. I said this is the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life. The next day I went to the music store and got some of his albums. Since then my life is all about Yanni`s music. I wanted to go to his concerts but my husband always told me we can`t afford it. So to make it happen I applied for a charge card and started selling on Ebay to pay for a concert ticket. To this day I still sell on Ebay to pay for my Yanni concerts. I have all his music, and videos, made a scrapebook of the concerts I attended, have met Yanni in person and the BEST ever was being with him at our PBS station in Chicago. Now the greatest thing that came out of all this was meeting other Yanni friends and them becoming a part of my life. We have developed such close relationships and I love them all. We all met on this message board and they are now my extended family. This all has just been an awesome experience for me since joining the YMB in 2003 and I am so grateful and so blessed.

I also heard Yanni for the first time on PBS from Los Angeles in the 90's when they were promoting LATA... I started hearing Yanni on the radio station where I worked and I was mesmerized and I still am!
I joined the YMB about 4 years ago and have really enjoyed the experience and being here... I have made many dear friends and have seen the Great Music Composer in Concert four times.. I hope to see him again very soon...

No,unfortunately I've never been to a concert..sigh..
I too was channel surfing, I believe in 1996, when I first heard Yanni on PBS. It was the LATA concert and from that moment on I was hooked. First concert for me was in 1998 and from then on I joined the message board. I was able to attend several concerts over the years and got to meet Yanni and some of the members of the band! Seems like just yesterday!

I was looking for music to meditate by when I found Yanni's album, Optomistique in 1984. I was hooked! In 1987 I experienced my first Yanni concert and have not missed one since. He continues to inspire and delight me............... Namaste, Vicki

What a sweet story Fe. "Fe" is what we call my oldest daughter Felicia. But I know what you mean. I can't stop and never will stop listening to Yanni's music. I have never had anything in my life clicked with me the way his music does. You either "get it" or you don't. That is one reason I come here. We ALL get it!! Yanni's music helped me thru alot of difficult times, seriously I doubt I would have made it the way I did without him. He taught me so much about life, compassion and my dreams. I've been a fan since Ethnicity. Once I was introduced to that cd, I went to that concert. After that I came home and ordered everything he ever did. And also bought everything on his website.lol I was and still am totally hooked. My daughters and I have been to 5 concerts now. Ethnicity, 2 Yanni Live's and 2 "Voices". We have met Yanni, all the "Voices" and several of his musicians. A thrill of my lifetime, to say the least. Nothing even comes close.
ps if you haven't read his book....Read it. You won't be able to put it down.
I knew yanni for the first time by seening the cover of TRIBUTE albume in one of my friends's home, I asked him who the guy in the pictuer was, and he told you have got to listen to him. Immediately I was cought by Deleverange then by the rest of the alboum, but I have not fell in love with yanni untill I heared another alboum which had in it Standing in motion, because I was knowing this song long before I knew Yanni. after knowing that he wrote Standing in motion I had a mission that took me around 8 years to accomplish, the mission was to get all of his melodies and songs. I became an addicted person to Yanni
