I want to share what I think will be something to inspire all of us to Never Give Up! When we made the KPBS pledge, we received a DVD and CD while in Mexico as part of the gift. I'm embarrassed to say that while I had watched the DVD, I had not listened to the CD. Today I have finally gotten some time alone and so I decided to listen, expecting the same songs as in the concert and on the DVD. Some of those songs are indeed on the disc....along with songs I don't remember ever hearing. Several are instrumental, several are with the Voices. I am listening to these with noise cancelling headphones and WOW!!!!!! The Voices are so smooth, the instrumentation is incredible, and the selections are varied.
I know several fans have been discouraged with the addition of words, but hang in there people, some beautiful music IS coming our way with something for everyone. While I grieve over the way the long time fans have been treated, I can't deny the absolute beauty, creativity, and uniqueness of Yanni's music with or without Voices. The quality of these recordings is superb, and I so hope that soon all of you will be able to hear what I am hearing right now.
I believe I may have finally gotten a point I had not wrapped my mind around. This project cannot be just looked at as Yanni. He told us that, but I took his meaning wrong - it is still Yanni, but in a new almost indescribable way. Yanni’s unique signature is all over every piece of this music, and it is magical! Even if you judge the music based on preconceived ideas, once you hear it I don't think you will be disappointed!!! Having seen the shows in Mexico, the only thing I would wish is that the suggestive dance which has been much discussed be changed. This piece of music is fantastic - no dance is needed really, and so many young people will not be allowed to go to the concert if it remains in its present form. Yanni is an incredible man who has taken four very talented young artists and given them the gift of a lifetime by allowing them to put words to his music. We can’t look at this project from just being Yanni fans. He has chosen to include these young singers and so should we. They are all very kind and talented, each in their own way. Watching the intensity of Yanni while performing with them is a treat that I cannot wait to experience again!
Please consider waiting a bit to throw in the towel - you won't believe what you are about to hear, and I don’t think you will be disappointed! Never give up!!!! Thank you Yanni!!
although I have not heard any of the CD you speak of, I love the way you said everything!
I may not be a long time fan, but I like to think my opinion still matters and I really like the fact that their is still some new instermental work being done. thanks for the awsome lift in spirit(even though my spirits where never really down... lol)

HI PATRICIA THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR COMMENTS, I HAVEN'T HEARD THE CD BUT IF THE SONGS ARE THE SAME THAT YANNI PLAYED AT ACAPULCO WERE AWESOME, THE SINGERS ARE EXCELLENT I THINK YANNI DID THE BEST CHOICE WITH THOSE SINGERS, AND I'M NOT DISSAPOINTED ABOUT ALL THE CHANGES THAT YANNI MADE. Hi Patricia Please,could you post the titles of the new instrumental songs? I know that the singers have beautiful voices,but I prefer Yanni's instrumental music and I really hope we will have the chance to hear new instrumental songs.
Thanks a Ton for the new piece of information Patricia! Incase if you can, kindly put up some details of the song list. I would love to know the names of both instrumentals and the ones with voices. I don't have the luxury of being patient till Yanni tours or the music releases as most of this is taking place far away from where i am. So i cant be a mere distant spectator for a long time

I'm sorry that I can't be more accurate with the titles - I took a stab at a few based on the lyrics, but for the instrumentals I just tried to describe the feel of the song to me. Maybe YManRep can tell us the titles?
