we need to start a campaign to request that Yanni start planning his next concert and bring back ALL the favorites with NO (Voices)singers unless the ones from the Tribute & Live concert tours return.
Also bring back:
Charly Karen Dan Pedro
the guy that played the Harp and. the guy that played the trumpet.
since the lunching of the Voices project I have been struggling to bring Yanni back. But At first a lot of members were against me. But now , I thank God that they could recognize that this project is not Yanni at all.
Thanks for your topic... really we need such words to have our dreams with Yanni again.
First of all, please follow Message Board rules. We are NOT going to use this Message Board to attack Yanni's partner.
Second, Yanni does not control distribution or release of ANY of his CDs/DVDs. Those rights belong to the record labels that originally produced them. No changes in Yanni's management team will cause them to be taken out of distribution.
I guess I'm in some minority here, but I believe the evolution of a talented composer is what makes them truly exceptional.
I love some of the new material and some of it doesn't touch me, but for all the time I have enjoyed Yanni's music, I have favorites and some that aren't.
As for the comments about appearance, please, Yanni is a human being who is doing what he wishes in his life. Have we all not made our own decisions about our lives? I, for one, don't care what someone does in their personal space.
Give it a rest, please. Give Yanni the courtesy of allowing him to choose what HE WISHES in his personal life. I don't care if he becomes a recluse and grows dreadlocks, or shaves his head, whatever, just continue to evolve and pursue the directions that his talent takes him.
I agree - but I do like Chloe, Nathan and Ender. I was a little surprised that the new Voices was made using the older songs. I had hoped for everything new.
ummm, My Opinion in what is happening is that Yanni still Yanni, and he didn't change, it is just a new direction he added to his music, he didn't move to it, he just add it, What I am saying is that Yanni will still do instrumental music, but for now he has this project, and it is for me I enjoyed every single Music with voices, he made.
and for Starlight, I think if he was going to do voices for newly created music it won't sound like Yanni, adding music to his existing music is what make it so great.
...the evolution of a talented composer is what makes them truly exceptional.
I agree with Annie here. I may not prefer the new direction, but I have great respect for Yanni for having the courage to make his own choices.
As far as revisiting the "old" Yanni, my first love will always be Acropolis. To this day (15 years later) the CD remains on the charts and the video has proven to be top selling (7+ million around the world) second only to Michael Jackson's Thriller. That concert is simple, genuine, chilling with every note. It will always be my personal favorite. Throughout all of Yanni concerts over the years, he is known to have the best musicians in the world to portray his music. This was his 1st and "original" band - that played with him for many years prior to Yanni's success with the Acropolis concerts, and they are to be commended for such loyalty, and their amazing sound. So, my kudos to Charlie Adams, Bradley Joseph, Karen Briggs, Ric Fierabracci, Julie Homi, and Kalani. Also gotta add in some other earlier members, such as Charlie Bisharat on violin, and Jeanette Clinger on vocals in the early days, plus more. And The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra did an awesome job as well, because from what I read in the book, they had only a few days to practice before those infamous concerts. You wouldn't know it that's for sure.
Ron, the names you are missing are Victor Espinola (harp) and Ramon Flores (trumpet).
