Message in a Bottle ©


As I take a walk along the sea
Profound feelings deep inside of me
How do I get a message out to you
Hoping it will somehow get through

Knowing you are across this land
As I make footprints in the sand
Feelings hidden so long ago
To be revealed so that you know

As I watch the seagulls cross the sky
Remembering your departure, I have to cry
Special moments spent with you
Hoping that you miss me too

I could not tell you how I feel
But these feelings are so real
Secrets hidden deep inside my heart
I just don't know where to start

With a pen and paper, I start to write
Been thinking of you day and night
Writing thoughts to help me heal
Peace that the night seems to steal

An old bottle washes up on shore
This is the answer I was searching for
This vessel will hold my message inside
As the ocean takes it with the tide

Although I know not where you are
My message in the bottle will travel far
Perhaps God will be its guide
May you find it on the other side

The Muse certainaly got through for this. It is very beautiful, and touches the inner senses, and lets one float with our own imagination. If one has encountered a lost love, it can bring out many emotions, as the writing allows for the touching of the soul.

Synchronicity has struck again. I was in the hospital when this was written. Thank you for this poem. It is an echo of what I was feeling in the hospital. Once again, God spared me. He must still have work for me to do.
