When one discovers the truth
Instead of a deep dark lie
One wishes they knew as a youth
Instead of after years flown by
Entirely different origins
From those that are perceived
Make the rules so different
While others remain deceived
Explanations no longer needed
I'm not theirs, that's why
And memories once receded
Now seem written in the sky
Deep within I always knew
It explains so many things
With the future in my view
I silently wait for spring
Life begins anew once more
As it flows gently along
I'll stand again at ocean's door
Singing my silent song.
