I love Yanni's music. I first started listening to it about 9 years ago and I have every single one of his songs. I fell in love with all his songs from the first time I heard them.
However, from what I have listened to so far I am not a big fan of his new material with the vocals. I understand that he wants to do something new and something fresh. In my opinion however, his new style of music just doesn't seem to have the same magic as his older style of music. Maybe I will learn to love them as well eventually.

Keep an open mind and heart. I first found Yanni
in 1984 with Optimystique, I saw my first concert in 1987 when no one knew how he was and have not missed one since. In being willing to experiment and change "what is", he gave us music we had never heard and we were touched deeply by it. His music has always evolved, just as he has through his experiences. I am grateful and simply wait.....for more. Namaste

i think we should be patient & let yanni experience new styles of music. when charles chaplin made "the great dictator" that was his first spoken dialogue film, many people blamed him that why left his silent movie style. but now who can say it's not as funny & lovely as his other movies? vocal songs of yanni are not my favorites but are nice. i think yanni never stops making non vocal musics. so, don't worry & go on enjoying your favorite yanni

I think the same way as you do!!!! At last the same opinion in this forum. We are Yanni fans, but for this reason we don´t have to accept all the things he does, do we? If we don´t like this material, he has to know it. I hope he´ll not spoil his perfect work with this new direction.

I agree with you. As his fans we should be able to voice our opinion. There is a theory that says "if it isn't broken, don't fix it". There's nothing wrong with Yanni's instrumental music. So why would he want to do something different? Why would he change something that's already very beautiful and good. There's nothing out there that compares to Yanni's beautiful instrumental music.

I do agree with you that Yanni's instrumentals are incomparable. And yes, everyone has the right to respectfully voice their opinions on this Message Board.

I just hope you don't believe it will change Yanni's decision to use vocalists. I would not want you to be disappointed.

From my experience and reading, Yanni is an artist - perhaps the ultimate artist. Artist's have to change and grow, it's the nature of being an artist. Also, Yanni appears to have committed himself fully to his project. The level of commitment he possesses I've only seen in one other person in my life. That kind of commitment is not easily swayed by the court of public opinion.

Please don't think I'm telling you that you can't voice your feelings respectfully. I just don't want anyone to feel Yanni has abandoned them because he doesn't change what he's doing.

From my perspective, I think we now have the best of everything, instrumental and vocal music that surpasses anything on this earth.

Yanni's Music in my opinion is in a class by itself!

So we are all in total agreement that Yanni's music is unique, beautiful, and is in a class by itself. I just hope that his new music does not have a negative impact on his great reputation as an amazing artist and musician.

I think I speak for all of Yanni's fans when I say "I am very hungry for new instrumental music".
