A long time ago I read an article stating that Yanni had thought about going back and reworking Optimystique, but decided not to. I wonder if he's reconsidering. I like that CD a lot, and I'd like to hear it reworked with today's technology. Plus I'd like to see remasters of the older CDs. I'm not sure what they're doing to CDs these days, but they seem to sound a better than older ones. I think it might be that they're not as dynamic, perhaps. If you look at the waveform of some CDs, it's all nearly peaked out all the way across. It's pump-up-the-volume and rock on. I prefer music that's got its soft elements and its loud elements, but I think some remasters would work nicely. In some pieces, I hardly hear the bass at all, while it really stands out on _Ethnicity_ and _If I Could Tell You_.

I read somewhere here that Charlie (drummer) is reworking some of the old CDs with new technology. That would be really neat!!
